As the filing deadline approaches here are some reminders regarding when the filing deadline is and when the 2020 2nd estimated tax payment is due for IRS and States:
Filing Deadline
The deadline for filing the federal 2019 individual and corporate returns is July 15.
An extension is still available until October 15 by filing a Form 4868 for individuals or Form 7004 for corporations and paying any tax that may be due by July 15.

All states (except Idaho and Virginia) also extended their filing deadline to July 15 (Hawaii to July 20). Idaho’s filing deadline is June 15 and Virginia’s was June 1.
2020 2nd Estimated Payment
For federal purposes the 2020 individual and corporate 2nd estimated payment is due on July 15.
The following states have also extended the due date for the 2nd estimated payment to July 15: Alabama, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Georgia, Hawaii, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Missouri, Mississippi, North Dakota, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Utah, West Virginia, and Wisconsin
The due date for the 2nd estimated payment remains at June 15 for the following states: Arizona, Delaware, District of Columbia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Louisiana, Maine, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Oregon, Rhode Island, Vermont and Virginia
